What Is Occupational Therapy?
As a paediatric Occupational Therapy, we work with a range of children with a range of diagnosis’s and delays. As n Occupational Therapist, we help your child build skills in the area of self-care, school and play. As an OT we aim to understand your child and family and build their capacity to engage in everyday activities
1. Gross motor development.
– Does your child fatigue quickly in physical activity?
– Do they struggle to sit at a desk?
– Is your child often draping their body over objects or leaning on people?
As an Occupational Therapist we are able to help build up your child’s physical strength to therefore be able to engage in everyday physical activities. It is important that every child has a stable base of support to promote engagement in everyday activities.
2. Fine motor development
– Is your child struggling to pick up small items?
– Is your child struggling with their writing?
– Does your child struggle to dup buttons and zips?
As an Occupational Therapist, we can help build the strength and coordination of their fingers. The use of a child’s fingers in imperative to engage in all activities of daily living, from playing with small items, writing and engaging in self-care activities.
3. Sensory processing support.
– Does your child seem to avoid loud noises?
– Does your child avoid certain types of food/have limited food intake
– Does your child seem to seek extra movement throughout the day (eg. Jumping frequently on furniture)
As an Occupational Therapist we can support you to understand how your child perceives sensory stimuli. Each child’s sensory processing is different and we are able to provide you with strategies to implement at home and school.
4. Self-Care.
– Does your child have toileting difficulties?
– Is your child struggling to sleep properly?
– Does your child have difficulty with dressing?
As an Occupational Therapist we are able to help your child to develop independence in self-care task in their day-to-day routine.
5. Emotional regulation
– Does your child struggle to take turns which result in them becoming upset?
– Does your child have emotional outburst frequently?
– Does your child struggled to regulate their emotions?
As an Occupational therapist we can help support you to understand your child’s emotional regulation. Along with this we are able to provide you with strategies to be able to support your child’s emotional development and wellbeing.

Funding Options
Self- funded
NDIS participant – self managed
We provide services to NDIS participants who are NDIS self-managed. This allows you to arrange the payment for the sessions based on your child’s NDIS funds.
